Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage is an American sitcom series spinoff and sequel to Young Sheldon created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The show features Georgie and Mandy and premiered on CBS on October 17, 2024.[1]
Plot
The television series follows Georgie Cooper and his fiancée Mandy McAllister in the 1990s as the development as a family.[1]
Production
It was in early development in January 2024, as reported by Deadline Hollywood. Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, and Chuck Lorre, prior producers on Young Sheldon, were attached as executive producers. However, Warner Bros. and CBS declined to comment on the development. [2]
With the show, it would be using a multi-camera setup of The Big Bang Theory, in contrast to Young Sheldon. The show also extends Chuck Lorre’s 2 decade presence on CBS. The show is also expected to feature episodes an hour long each. [3]
On May 2, 2024, CBS released a teaser trailer for the spin-off along with its title. They also announced it succeed Young Sheldon's timeslot, to air 8pm on Thursdays.[4]
In July 2024, filming and production started on the first episode, and presumably the other episodes as well.
On February 20, 2025, CBS renewed the show for a second season.[5]

Trivia
- On March 5, 2024, the series was officially ordered by CBS for the 2024-2025 season after the negotiation process for the cast.[6]
- On May 15, 2024, Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones were announced to regular cast, returning as Mandy's parents.[7]
- On July 19, 2024, two more characters were announced to regular cast, Mandy's brother Connor returning and a new character named Ruben.[8]
- This is currently the only The Big Bang Theory series without Sheldon Cooper.
