What needs to be done: I now own a copy of this game CIB. I will document more of it once I get some LR44 (hope I got the name right) batteries that actually works.
See if the creatures were ever re-used in a newer Tamagotchi, Digimon, or other such Bandai digital pet.
Nakayoshi Pet Mate (なかよしペットメイト in Hiragana writing) is a game made for the Super Note Club (aka the Super Color Whiz).
Handheld Mode
This game is unique in the sense that it not only acts as a game cartridge, but also as a portable handheld. In handheld mode the game functions pretty much like a standard Tamagotchi, even being from the same creators Bandai. Meanwhile inserting the handheld into the console you can interact with your pet in more ways, and play exclusive games and activities on the actual system itself.
Creatures
The creatures you take care of is a sphere or oval shaped being that can have bunny, tanuki (aka Japanese Racoon Dog), or cat like ears. There tails can be like that of a dog, tanuki, or pig.
Due to the handheld cartridge's limited screen real-estate, many of the details maybe hard to see. This is not an issue when the cartridge is inserted into the laptop itself.
Trivia
- The handheld itself is powered by two LR44 batteries.
- When the device is opened for the first time, a clear plastic pull tab is over the contacts of the left battery. For some reason, the right battery never has this piece to protect the device.
- No power on/off button is present, instead to turn the handheld on after inserting new batteries you must hold down the reset button located a little above the A button for a few seconds until it powers on.
