Comments are a way to leave a quick message with your thoughts on a blog post or article page.

Fandom provides two separate commenting systems: article comments and blog comments. Although both systems are powered by Discussions, they function independently and are associated with different types of content on the wiki:

  • Article comments appear below article content and are used to discuss the article itself.
Article comments are enabled by default, but can be disabled by the community's administrators via Admin Dashboard's Wiki features.
If article comments are not available for a page, users can participate in the conversation using its talk page instead, which is located in the "Edit" dropdown.
  • Blog comments appear below blog posts and are intended for more casual conversations and community discussions.
Blog comments are an integral part of the blog system — they can only be disabled by disabling blogs entirely via Admin Dashboard's Wiki features.

Since April 2022, only logged in users that are both "emailconfirmed" and "autoconfirmed" are allowed to comment as a measure to reduce spam and vandalism in comments. As of June 2025, only logged-in users can view comments.

Disabling or re-enabling Article comments

The Commenting checkbox

The Commenting checkbox

Community's administrators can disable or re-enable comments for a certain article by editing it then clicking the "Commenting" checkbox, available under the editor window.

They can also disable or re-enable comments for every article by using the given feature from the Admin Dashboard.

After disabling Article Comments, neither the comment field nor any comments will be displayed under any article, even if the article had comments before. However, disabling Article Comments will not delete any already existing comments, and therefore will be visible again once Article Comments are re-enabled.
