The Alphabet Apple was a toy released in 2012.

Differences

  • The On/Off button is now labeled with a power symbol.
  • The Safari button is now a Help button, which can repeat the current question or give a helpful hint.
  • The words are now a mixture of animals and objects.
  • In the UK version, some words are different. Those words being:
    • Robot → radio
    • Umbrella → uncle
    • Yarn → yacht
    • Zipper → zip (It’s still a zipper; zippers are usually called zips in the UK.)
  • The first letter of each word is now highlighted in red.
  • The letters, the clock hand, and the numbers on the clock are larger.
  • There is now a worm that lies on the bottom of the leaf; its mouth flashes whenever it speaks. At any time, when you slide it to the right, it will say “I am a happy worm and I love to sing!” (which can be skipped by sliding the worm again) and then sing one of three songs, which will always play in the same order: Apples and Bananas (or Hickory Dickory Dock in the UK), Glow Worm, and The Alphabet Song. The lights will dance as well. Sliding the worm while it is singing will switch songs. After the worm’s song ends, it will return to what you were doing.
  • There are now 7 activities instead of 8.
  • The songs in music mode are reused from the 2008 Alphabet Apple, but they are played with the new instruments. Some songs are extended, shortened, sped up and/or slowed down.
  • It says, “Ready for an Alphabet Apple adventure?” when it powers on and “See you later!” when it powers off.
