Manufactured by Zaltin Corp, the Zaltin-E9 Bacta Tank was a cylindrical model of all-purpose bacta tank that took up little more space than a human adult. Patients using the tank were submerged into clear synthetic fluids that filled the tank almost to the top and mimicked the body's vital fluids. Translucent red bacta gel was then added to the solution to form a bacterial medium that sought out traumatised flesh and healed wounds with no scarring. Authorised dealers offered Zaltin-E9s as an optional extra for the crew quarters of YT-1300 light freighters, although the fluids necesary for the tank were sold separately by numerous dealers.[1]
