Zakul was a Sanyassan Marauder and the new King of Endor. He was one of the sons of Terak, leader of the stranded Sanyassan Marauders.[1]
When King Terak was killed in 3 ABY,[2] General Yavid tried to take the Marauder throne and tried to become King. But he was not able to match Terak's feat of keeping order over such a rabble, and the Marauders turned on one another.[3] But eventually Zakul emerged victorious in this struggle, re-established order, and became the new King.[1]
Nevertheless, when the New Republic later sent agents to scout the Endorian forest, they found no trace of the Sanyassan Marauders.[4]
Behind the scenes
The character of Zakul was first mentioned in the roleplaying game module Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds,[1] published in March 24, 2004.[5] His backstory after the events of Ewoks: The Battle for Endor[2] was indirectly mentioned in the module, as GMs whose campaigns set after the Battle of Endor could use Terak’s statistics for Zakul, indicating that he took power after his father.[1]
