Yuji Kaida (Japanese: 開田 裕治) is a Japanese artist. For Tokyopop's Star Wars Manga: Silver, he created a fold-out color artwork of Darth Vader with an unfinished Death Star in the background.[1]
Kaida is best known for illustrations of Godzilla and other kaiju, earning him the nickname "怪獣絵師" (kaiju eshi, or the Kaiju Painter).[2] He won the 1997 Seiun Award for Best Artist.[3]
