Most popular

Wookieepedia's most popular articles - the top ten species:

Maybe we could do some work on these articles. What think you? Not FA as such, just raise the quality. --Eyrezer 01:16, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • I think it might be a good idea to actually pick one of these species, set up a sub-page somewhere, and really do it right. Like Project Wormie for Luke. We could have a clearinghouse for notes, etc. Maybe not to replace the alphabet project (we should choose something simpler for that), but as a secondary project we could all pitch in on. ~ SavageBob 01:50, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
      • Hmm. I'm not 100% convinced this is a good idea... --Eyrezer 07:30, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
        • I picked Twi'lek as it is the most popular. I don't know how we want to do this, but we could nominate sections. I tend to think Bob does the best B&A sections, so I'd nominate you for that. I'd prefer to start on the S&C section... --Eyrezer 08:45, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
          • Twi'lek wouldn't have been my first choice (I've been annoyed since the WEG days of how overused they are!) but I can get on board with this. If our goal is simply to improve the article, then we can do it by section. But if we have a goal of making this an FA, we should start by simply taking notes. Perhaps set up another subpage where we can each start taking sources or appearances, going through them, taking down pertinent information, and then striking them off to avoid duplicated efforts. So, I guess it depends on the route we want to take. ~ SavageBob 15:49, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
          • I've set up a clearinghouse for our notes to help us coordinate our efforts. Perhaps we could start by hitting up all the encyclopedic sources, like UAA, AA, CSWE, NEGAS, etc. Once we've consulted all those and taken notes, we can take stock of where we're at, write up a decent article if we want, and then decide to continue with the countless other appearances and sources for the species. What do y'all think? ~ SavageBob 16:20, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
            • Good strategy. --Eyrezer 03:59, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Note-taking

  • I strongly suggest to subdivide the notes more exhaustively. For instance, a good part of "1. Biology and appearance" will go to describe the lekku. We could create a sub-section "1.1 Lekku", which could or could not become a real sub-section in the finished article. I personally work my notes that way, commonly dividing "Bio" in parts such as "complexion", "head", "internal", "other", etc. Also, a "Language(s)" sub-section under "Culture", which would sub-sub-divide in "Twi'leki (spoken)", "Lekku (Head-tail language)" and mostly "How Twi'leks deal with other languages", et al. I would do it myself, but I want consensus before heavily editing your work. Skippy Farlstendoiro 10:30, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
    • I do this too, but generally only after I've finished with all note-taking. But I'm sure there are some subsections we're bound to need, so we could go ahead and set those up. Maybe, for instance, "Lekku," "Head and face," "Body," "Other" under Biology and appearance? My concern is that if we add too many at this stage in the game, it slows down note-taking. ~ SavageBob 15:30, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
    • Went ahead and added some. Feel free to add others if warranted. ~ SavageBob 17:13, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Skippy, I somehow messed up your ages table and can't figure out how to fix it. Sorry! ~ SavageBob 16:52, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Sources

I suspect that the sources list (and quite probably the appearances list) is woefully incomplete. A few of the basic sources I've been consulting (AGTTSWU2, SWSB2, etc.) were not listed. We need to do a "What links here?" sweep on Twi'lek very soon to make sure our list is as up-to-date as possible! ~ SavageBob 16:52, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

  • More than 2,500 pages link to Twi'lek! I've gone through the first 500 to see which ones were not added to the source or appearance list, so we just need to start with the second page of 500 and keep going. Yikes! ~ SavageBob 04:19, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
  • Definitely. This also raises the question of which is our Master list. We currently have Appearances/Sources on both the Notes and the article page. I suggest we remove one of these so that we don't inadvertently update one list and not the other—both order-wise and new additions. When I have more time, I'll transfer the source dates (such as I got up to) across to the notes page, and then remove the source/app list from our article page. --Eyrezer 22:58, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
    • OK, cool. Let us know when you've completed the move. We should refrain from combing through the remaining 1,500 links until we have one master list of sources/appearances. (Incidentally, I vote we keep the master list on the notes page, since it means we can cross things off in one edit rather than two. But either way is fine as long as we're consistent.) ~ SavageBob 04:09, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
      • Done, with dates added for what is currently there, and ordered accordingly. --Eyrezer 11:50, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
        • Where is it now? I can't seem to find it to cross out NEGAS. ~ SavageBob 16:07, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
          • I haven't gone through the 2,500 links, just added dates to the current sources and ordered them. --Eyrezer 21:09, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
            • Ah, but you didn't move the source list from the notes page, gotcha. ~ SavageBob 21:54, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
  • I removed the lists from this page. On our notes page, I added in the <!---->. The Notes page is now our "Master list" but it has not yet been bulked out with all the missing sources from the "What links here". --Eyrezer 23:09, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
    • I've gone through the second 500 links. I can't guarantee the Appearances are in chronological order, though. --Eyrezer 12:15, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
      • Cool. I think sorting the appearances will take some doing, so don't worry too much about it yet. ~ SavageBob 15:21, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
  • The third 500 have been pored over. That leaves two more pages of "What links here" links to go though, I think. ~ SavageBob 01:10, April 15, 2010 (UTC)
  • The fourth 500 has now also been trawled through. --Eyrezer 10:49, April 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Aaaanndd... We're done. Good work, guys. Now just to keep on top of new stuff that comes out that mentions Twi'leks... ~ SavageBob 17:05, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

Partially completed sources

List any sources here that you've not been able to completely comb through; that way the rest of us can maybe finish the source off later. ~ SavageBob 21:32, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • Scum and Villainy—the text in the copy I have is completely illegible, so I was only able to look a the pictures. I'll try to find a copy in the local bookstore at some point, but can't promise anything soon. ~ SavageBob 21:32, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • (link redacted) Granted, it's not the best quality copy, but the text seems readable to me. --Imperialles 21:58, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • Actually I figured out it was a problem with my PDF reader. If I use Adobe's it works, if I use my usual one, it doesn't! I'll look through the source again soon and concentrate on the text. ~ SavageBob 22:49, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • I've stricken Scum and Villainy above, even though I did not look through the final adventure of the book. Rather, I added that adventure as appearance, to be gone through when we reach that stage. ~ SavageBob 01:29, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
  • Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds - the Ryloth entry is done up to the locations section, but not beyond that. --Eyrezer 22:41, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

Star Wars: Cantina

This is all the info on Twi'leks found in Star Wars: Cantina for the iPhone:

Source: Star Wars: Cantina
TWI'LEK SMUGGLER

Twi'leks are a common sight on many planets. They are smart and opportunistic, and these smugglers are no exception. They pay well but lack patience as they are always in a hurry to get to the next business appointment.

JAC'RIL

Jac'Ril came to Tatooine because he heard a rumor that bantha milk is the next fashionable beverage among the rich and famous. Annoyingly it seems that every smuggler and merchant has heard the same rumor

The bit about "paying well and lacking patience" is in reference to smugglers in general, not Twi'lek. Jac'Ril is a Twi'lek. All Twi'leks in the game are Rutians (and they're all smugglers, too). --Imperialles 01:37, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Cool, thanks! I've added the info to our notes page. ~ SavageBob 17:01, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Galaxies card game

Here we go. I kept the original organization of the cards from your sources list, and added my additions in alphabetical order at the bottom of each series. Plus notes for each card. I used {{Po}} for each card that did not contain the word "Twi'lek". If you want me to change that, let me know.

Champions of the Force (August 2008)

Squadrons over Corellia (December 2008)

Galactic Hunters (March 2009)

Agents of Deception (June 2009)

The Shadow Syndicate (September 2009)

The Nightsister's Revenge (December 2009)

Threat of the Conqueror (March 2010)

That's all! Enjoy. --Imperialles 09:26, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
