Trivia
Every Star Wars Rebels episode is chock full of nods and connections to other canon stories and Star Wars Legends. Here's what we found in 'Legends of the Lasat:'
- This episode marks the first appearance of Lasat other than Zeb on the series. In previous episodes, we learned that the Lasat were all-but wiped out in fall of Lasan.
- This episode also marks the second appearance of Hondo Ohnaka in Star Wars Rebels. Fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will recognize Hondo as the fan favorite pirate who often interacted with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano.
- The rebels rescue Chava and Gron from Nixus Hub 218, where the Empire brought them after Hondo sold them—knowing the rebels would rescue them, of course. Nixus Hub 218 was also seen in Hondo's previous episode this season, "Brothers of the Broken Horn."
- The Lasat refer to "the spirit of the galaxy" as the Ashla. The name Ashla was used to refer to the light side of the Force in the earliest drafts of what became Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, with the dark side of the Force known as the Bogan. It is also the name of a youngling who Yoda taught in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. In Star Wars Legends lore, Ashla was the name of one of the moons of Tython, the homeworld of the Jedi Order, and was used by the ancient Jedi and ancient Sith to refer to the light side.
