Template:WelcomeSS

Wikipedia:WP:AGF, Wikipedia:WP:NPA - Sikon [Talk] 04:00, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Delete

  1. Did any of you ever read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress? That bit where Manny is explaining jokes to the lunar supercomputer? My opinion: the customized SuperShadow welcome is a "funny once", so a template to put on future obvious trolls is unneeded. —Silly Dan (talk) 04:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  2. Delete, unprofessional and childish. Strikes especially close to home since it was my revised welcome template that he copied for this (he even copied my instructions). RMF 04:13, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  3. Funny the first time, but not anymore. Delete it. -- Ozzel 04:34, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  4. Delete it.--Rune Haako 04:42, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  5. Why is this even a vote? We can't condone this sort of behaviour. --Azizlight 05:33, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  6. Delete. Much like the Police Academy films, it was funny the first time, but the second-through-eight times will only serve to put people off. jSarek 06:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Keep

  1. Keep This was used on User Talk:SuperShadoh, one of User:SuperShadow's sockpuppets. Not only were all of his edits vandalism, he used an inflammatory username. This template was used on another inflammatory username earlier today, and that particular user also vandalized. Therefore, why should this template be used on no vandal other than Supershadow? --Six-Eight One-O-Two One-Nine-Three Seven-Eight 04:23, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Anonymous users can't vote, by the way. Please pick a username and sign in. —Silly Dan (talk) 04:18, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Done. --Six-Eight One-O-Two One-Nine-Three Seven-Eight 04:25, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Comments

  1. Like Silly Dan said, it was sort of a one-time joke; not the foundation for a template to be used repeatedly across the wiki for vandals of all types. Also, you should know that votes are not usually counted from anonymous or very new users; if you wish to participate in votes such as this you will have to register. RMF 04:21, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  2. He told me to make a username before voting, so I did. Besides, why should we treat serious vandals (and those with vandalistic usernames) better than Supershadow and his sockpuppets? --Six-Eight One-O-Two One-Nine-Three Seven-Eight 04:24, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  3. Because if we did that, it would make us just as bad as them. --Azizlight 05:33, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  4. Yes, it's the whole "stooping down to their level" mindset. And I think Sikon made the correct choice in putting this up on VFD as opposed to just deleting it: besides being a democratic outlet, it also shows the creator that there is no community support for actions like this. RMF 05:39, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  5. This shows that we have a need for a creation log for new user accounts. Since its a different topic, please fill free to discuss this with me at Forum:Creation log for user accounts. MyNz 06:50, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
  6. This community is more civilized than I thought. You can delete it I guess. No more silly welcome messages for Supershadow's Sockpuppets. --68.102.193.78 12:54, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
