Third Battle of Yavin IV

Though this battle is apparently a non-canon Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader battle, I'm not sure that it's a candidate for speedy deletion. Comments, anyone? —Silly Dan (talk) 21:53, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

An article with the same title was previously deleted. However, that article was about an alternate reality/"instant action" Star Wars: Battlefront II battle set during the Clone Wars. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:53, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I was unaware that Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader was non canon. Is that stated somewhere? --SparqMan 22:17, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

  • This seems to depict an episode in the game's "losing path", therefore non-canon, storyline. I haven't played the game, so I wasn't sure.—Silly Dan (talk) 22:20, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
    • We could merge this with Star Wars Infinities: A New Hope too: seems to be a similar storyline....—Silly Dan (talk) 02:59, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
      • There is absolutely nothing in the game that states that the event was non-canon. Lt. 1993 12:38, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
        • The article describes it as a battle taking place after the Rebels failed to take out the Death Star, though. Is the BTS info inaccurate? Like I say, I haven't played the game. —Silly Dan (talk) 12:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

This is Canon! Stop dismissing things as fact through your own ignorance! —Unsigned comment by Rancorkeeper (talk • contribs)

  • The BTS section is fake. Bly1993
    • OK. If you've played the game, could you defakify it? —Silly Dan (talk) 00:03, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
      • The game says nothing of it being infinities. The game says nothing of the Death Star remaining intact. The main goal of the level is to command a wing of TIEs to the Massassi Temple as Darth Vader as the rebels start moving some supplies off the planet. If the Death Star is intact, then why would the Imperials launch an attack on the planet if the Death Star is still in orbit? And, the BTS section says that it's an oversight by the developers that the planet is still intact. I don't think they are stupid enough to make that mistake. An anonymous message on the talk page says that it's in between two alternate reality missions. Yes, that is true. The one before, the Death Star is not destroyed. Their is no implication of that in this mission. The one after is just a bonus game. Wswordsmen is using pure speculation. And just call "alternate reality" non canon, Wswordsmen and that anon on the talk page. Much easier phrase. --Bly1993
  • I have played the game, and this "battle" does in fact exist. For those who have the game, look above the "Strike at the Core" mission (here is another non-canon alternate mission featuring Darth Vader destroying the Rebel fighters, including Luke). Then, go to the right of that. The mission, where you play Darth Vader, is a non-canon battle within the game. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 23:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Also, I don't know if this non-canon battle is meant to be set after the non-canon battle where Vader destroys all the Rebel fighters and saves the Death Star. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 23:55, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Rouge Leader is cannon, the last three missions (the one this is based off of included) are not. The other two which are on either side are blatantly non-cannon (One the Death Star isn't destroyed, the other is Endurance which would just be stupid to be cannon.
