Comments

  • This page is not totally about Star Wars. If it is kept I believe it should be merged with an article such as George Lucas, or maybe George Lucas's influences (create it obviously). Chack Jadson 00:43, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
    • So...what's this movie about? -- SFH 04:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
  • An article about influences would be tough. Where does one draw the line? Campbell's Hero Cycle? — SparqMan Talk 04:50, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
    • But that would be one of the benefits. That we could mention all those far-fetched and very basic influences that definately shouldn't have their own article. Charlii 21:56, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
      • It's one thing to have articles on things inspired by Star Wars, like Spaceballs, but things that inspired Star Wars give so much more room for speculation, and SparqMan is right, where do you draw the line? I think a Lucas influences article would be the best thig for it, with each entry having to meet a wikipedia-like notability (two unrelated outside published sources, or direct quote from Lucas) to be included. Wildyoda 17:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
        • We actually had a page for things that influenced Star Wars, but it got deleted. -LtNOWIS 05:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
          • It's still on Wikipedia:Star Wars source and analogues, with a few "cleanup" "cites needed" and "is this original research" tags attached. Anyway, I'll close this debate now with a "merge" result, move the article, and slap "doomed" on it. If that article gets big enough to split The Hidden Fortress off into a separate article, we can discuss it on the talk page. —Silly Dan (talk) 00:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
