Po Nudo's aides
- This article covers insignificant characters. They are without names or relevance to the plot. There are hundreds of unnamed characters seen on screen—we don't need this article any more than we need Human sitting at bar or Unnamed Jedi youngling. —Unsigned comment by SparqMan (talk • contribs)

- Keep, same reason as Justin really...it gives you information on characters, even if they don't have names. -Jaymach Ral'Tir 01:33, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Keep, There are details such as the Shi'dio spy! In fact, I'm going to expand my argument. We know as much or more info on these aides than we do most NAMED aides and they are no more or less significant. They have three movie appearances. One was a Shi'ido spy. Unlike "Human sitting at bar" we know their jobs. And they are visually distinct.JustinGann 01:25, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Keep, for the same reasons!! And I'll note that "Human sitting at bar" is wearing a US flag on the shoudler of his space-suit... he does deserve an entry!! --McEwok 01:40, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Keep. We don't care how insignificant they are here on Wookieepedia. One day these characters might actually get names via the What's The Story? feature on SW.com. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:36, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)

- Keep, this is not so like "Human sitting at bar", these dudes are unnamed but featured in several places, including the Visual Dictionary. --Thinortolan 00:39, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Keep, and they can be linked from List of nameless characters and Category:Nameless characters. --Azizlight 21:12, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Merge to Po Nudo, split if more information comes up (like a name). — Silly Dan 05:47, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)

- Merge to Po Nudo and/or Shi'ido, but another mishap in the Po Nudo aides discussion that I just noticed was that on many different Wookiepedia articles discussing Nudo, his aide is named Shi'dio, with a link to the species page. Issue? Darth_Alpha1 20:40, 30 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Surely the information on a Shi'ido spy could be placed in a relevant context (like on Po Nudo's article or on the Shi'dio page itself. --SparqMan 01:37, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Why not just merge the articles and keep the pic?JustinGann 05:20, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- That is what I have voted for. --SparqMan 16:42, 18 Dec 2005 (UTC)
"One day these characters might actually get names..." and at that time we'll create an article for them. They've appeared in the films as a part of the background, and until we know more information, the article is a waste. --SparqMan 02:22, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Apparently, they are significant enough to be in the Visual dictionaries, and the Keep votes outnumber the Delete votes.JustinGann 03:03, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- JustinGann, there are a number of unnamed characters who appear in Star Wars reference books, but they also do not warrant inclusion. Further, this sets a dangerous precedent on the wiki. The smallest details are offered as asides in EU novels, such as a Mon Calamari captain of a ship or a Rodian in a cantina, and they will now deserve articles such as "Mon Calamari captain of Orthavan" or "Rodian in the cantina on Nal Hutta". Further, this process is one of consensus, not democracy. --SparqMan 16:41, 18 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Didn't we agree that this wiki would have everything under the sun pertaining to Star Wars, even the most obscure things? Wikipedia lost my full interest because of that. And I shall repeat that one day these things just may get a backstory, and if not right now, then we have incentive for someone to. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:20, 31 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Why would Po Nudo's aides be less significant characters than other aides just because they don't have names?JustinGann 22:40, 31 Dec 2005 (UTC)

- Riffs: This is not a matter of obscurity, it is a matter of notability. Should we cover Luke Skywalker's boots? How's about Black Human Rebel at Endor raid briefing? We don't have to note everything shown to use for which we have no information. Take a look at Tendau Bendon's aides. How silly is that? JustinGann: They are not characters. What is notable about them? Okay, one was a Shi'ido, but we don't know who he was, what he did, anything. He is not connected to any events or other characters. Help me understand why you think this article is important for us to have here. --SparqMan 06:23, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Rather, why is it so "dangerous" it needs removal? These are characters with full costumes created and numerous available pics, which Wiki can identify for those interested. How is it any less significant than the various Outlander patrons? They have proper names, but what do we know of them? They were in a bar. With THESE characters, we know their species, jobs, political associations, we even know one was a shapeshifter. It won't hurt anything to just leave the article alone. If it bores you, nobody forces you to read it.JustinGann 21:33, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I see it as dangerous to the organization of information on Wookieepedia. It's a matter of setting precedent. --SparqMan 22:01, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- SWENC seems to think that one of the aides was named "Shi'ido", not that he was a Shi'ido. Can someone with the book confirm?
- The AOTC VD makes it clear the aide was a member of the Shi'ido species; the ROTS VD simply labeled him "Shi'ido" leading many to the mistaken conclusion it was a proper name.JustinGann 06:11, 7 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- This hasn't anything to do with this Vfd, but can you post the exact text? --SparqMan 20:27, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- This VFD has brought up a completely different debate which should be discussed on its own consensus track page. I therefore say we hold this VFD until we've decided what to do about unnamed characters and such. --Imp 20:35, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I second Imp's motion. — Silly Dan 20:38, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
And now, we have an article on an unnamed character who's only semi-canon: Finn's Apprentice! We also have Orn Free Taa's aides, who were cut from the final version of Ep. 1. And yet, I'm not bothered by this, because in all three cases, we have something we can say about them that isn't completely non-trivial. We should work out guidelines, though. — Silly Dan 00:52, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
