  1. Merge. Seems to me that nicknames should be merged into the article of the main character. WhiteBoy 09:21, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  2. Merge. A paragraph explaining how the character earned the nickname in the main article is much more useful than a linked two-line article with no context. --SparqMan 16:50, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  3. Either Merge this category with Category: Aliases, or (my preference) merge all articles in both categories with the main articles for the characters in question. Either way, this category should be deleted. — Silly Dan 18:39, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  4. Merge with Category: Aliases. jSarek 07:17, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
  5. Merge in Category: Aliases like JSarek says. Nicknames, aliases, and pseudonyms are like all the same thing. Cato Neimoidia 02:46, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
  6. Merge with character. Also, what about the Negotiator, which was Obi-Wan Kenobi's nickname? It's not in the list.--Alpha Fire 22:31, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Nicknames often have aspects to them that reveal more about the cultural and social context that the individual lives in than about the individual him/herself. That applies in our world and in the galaxy as well. In that sense they also have the nature of phrases (that goes for Hero With No Fear, Lom, Chu'la, and Miserable Old Geezer at least). That's why I think nicknames - or at least certain nicknames - should have their own articles (the articles there are should also be expanded I think) and their own category. • By the way nicknames, aliases and pseudonyms are not like the same thing. An alias is a name that's assumed temporarily, a nickname is a familiar name for a person which is not the birthname (but which is not temporary either), and a pseudonym is is a ficticious name used by a person in certain social roles. So they clearly are not the same thing. Merging them under the "Aliases" category would be a an embarrassing mistake. Then, it would be better to rename the category "Aliases, nicknames and pseudonyms" or something (and even better: keep them as three separate categories). KEJ 20:59, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
