Imperialization

Started by an anonymous user, but it's a valid point. Is there a source for the term "Imperialization" anywhere, or canonical support for such a movement? -- Darth Culator 21:38, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Keep

  1. It's the best name we have to describe an actual process, and could be a valuable resource with expansion. I say keep it. Havac 19:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
  2. Ooohhh, this is semi-linguistic. Keep! KEJ 12:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
  3. Keep. It IS a canon term. From the Star Wars Encyclopedia, pg. 140: "The process of galactic conquest as put forth by Emperor Palpatine. Imperialization focused on the conquest of star systems, the regulation of commerce, and the taxation and appropriation of of goods and services for the benefit of the Empire. [SWN]" That bracketed note indicates that the term comes from the Star Wars novelization, though I haven't found it in a cursory look-through to find more context. jSarek 03:37, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
  4. Biggs once told Luke that they were starting to nationalize commerce in the Core systems. I suppose that's evidence that this process existed, though that's not always what it was called. —Silly Dan (talk) 03:56, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
  5. Changing vote to keep per JSarek, provided that the Star Wars Encyclopedia is added to the sources. — SavageBob 04:06, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
  6. Keep. As jSarek said, it's a canon term, see my comments below for more examples. --Rudy 01:47, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

  1. Well, being the deletionist that I am... Sikon [Talk] 18:06, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Merge

  1. There is some interesting information here, but I'm not sure that "Imperialization" is actually an in-universe term. Why don't we just merge the information into Galactic Empire? Breathesgelatin 21:09, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
  2. I agree. -- Cato Neimoidia 22:32, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  3. Merge per BG. — SavageBob 18:16, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

  • It is pure specilation. -- 59.92.47.253 16:20, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
  • We should probably slap a conjecture-tag on the article KEJ 14:03, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
  • As Silly Dan noted, Biggs used the term "nationalize" in a cut scene from A New Hope, it's interesting that the novelization used the term "imperialize" in the same context. Biggs talking to Luke from page 30 of my copy, "I've heard that they're starting to imperialize commerce in all the outlying systems." It's also used on the databank here and here.--Rudy 01:45, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
