General Gallery
Wookieepedia is not here to host Star Wars images, this sort of use isn't covered under fair use, and the gallery itself is pointless and too large. These galleries are apparently to keep unused images from being deleted. If they're unused, there's no reason to keep them around. Incorporate them into articles where possible and eliminate the rest. - Lord Hydronium 06:47, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

- Just delete it but if you do so I'm also requesting the deletion of all other galleries and all unused images ASAP, even those that might be useful in the future. The galleries were created as a means to categorize the images without editting them one by one. This one, in particular, was to decrease the creation of individual galleries. --Razzy1319 08:58, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Some galleries are actually informative when they contain a context (e.g. Gallery of character deaths). Thus, though this one should go, the others should probably be kept. jSarek 10:05, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would like to add that we already have an automatically organized gallery of images in Special Pages. The only purpose of this is to arrange them, but its still out of order. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:53, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- All the new files gallery does is display the latest uploaded files. it doesnt organize anything. The General Gallery isnt finished, thats why I was asking you for permission to make the gallery. And it is categorized a little, The new files gallery doesnt even have a table of contents. One last thing, I know its a weak defense but, Wikipedia uses galleries. --Razzy1319 18:48, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Do admins even read this after they vote? I'm providing uses and arguments against their reasons, and no budge not even a kind answer. jSarek if look at some of the articles that links to the gallery you would see the general idea. it has context. --Razzy1319 05:13, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- Though I suggest deleting this, it might be worth keeping some of the images as part of a more focused gallery. Say, "Gallery of Palpatine Images", "Gallery of Droids", "Gallery of Alien Species 1 (A-F)", something like that. But an indifferently sorted collection of miscellaneous images is not all that helpful. — Silly Dan 05:19, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- I wasnt actually finished categorizing, I was still getting all the pictures from the Unused images pile, as you can see even the images that already have a gallery arent merge into their prospective galleries. I tried the "Gallery of Alien Species" thing but someone mentioned it was too general a topic to create a gallery for. Do you really want individual galleries like, "Gallery of Wilhuff Tarkin", "Gallery of Hanadaks", or "Gallery of Khaleen Hentz" to appear? --Razzy1319 05:26, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

- Just thought of a way to make this better, more categorized, and more useful. I'll simply make a Category Gallery divided into the main categories we have. Characters, Events, Ships, Technology and etc. Opinions? --Razzy1319 21:51, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
That'll make it work -SWF
- The problem isn't categorization, it's that this isn't fair use (which makes it a copyright violation), and if the images aren't in an entry, they're pointless. This isn't a multimedia storage site. There's no problem with galleries of images used in articles, particularly if several images are spread over many articles (the logo one is a good example of how to use galleries). - Lord Hydronium 04:03, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
