"Ah, for the days when a commanding officer could dump a useless minion out the airlock without having to worry about filling in forms..."

Against

  • Once again playing vote games to avoid having the same guy from the same novel appearing twice in a row. Why do you people constantly do this? Enochf 17:17, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
    • Maybe because all we care about is the quality of a quote? Maybe because it really doesn't matter if quotes from the same source or same character appear twice (or even more times) in a row, as long as they're good quotes? Because maybe we thought that's what the QOTD page was for (i.e. you know, nomming and voting for good quotes, regardless of who says them and from what source they come)? • I would vote the same as Enochf but it is simpler to say that 3 quotes from the same person from the same source in a row would get VERY tedious and is something that I do care about. I'll happily vote for this when it has a few quotes between it and the others. Someone try putting up a ton of Kyle Katarn quotes in a row and see how soon people will got bored when that is all that appears on the main page. Exactly. And yes, I do know that Kyle is some demi-god that everyone seems obliged to vote for. NayayenTALK 18:14, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
        • Then just set it for a later date! We already do that for other types of quotes (i.e. Christmas quotes, MJ's suggested tax day quote, etc.) Just because it passes next doesn't mean it has to go next; just put it on a later day. Don't vote against a good quote just because you don't want to see the same source twice in a row, especially when that can be prevented by using a little common sense and putting a day or two between those quotes. It's not rocket science, folks. Jonjedigrandmaster (Jedi Beacon) 18:36, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
