Ben: "I've… got a strange feeling."
Luke: "What is it?"
Ben: "As if… as if I've been here before!"
Luke: "If I weren't such a tolerant parent I'd box your ears."
Vestara: "I'll do it."
Ben: "You would."

  7. Because I want there to be a policy that strikes votes for/against a quote because of the source rather than the actual quote, which in this case is pretty good. NAYAYEN:TALK 07:44, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Against

  1. Yes. I'm going to be voting against Allies quotes for no other reason than because they're from the book that killed the Expanded Universe as we've known it for nearly thirty years. TIEPilot051999 02:27, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
    • Uh, may I ask how it killed the EU? All it did to any pre-FotJ canon at all was *SPOILER* confirm that Callista died at some point over the past thirty years (IU). How does that kill the EU as we know it? Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 03:21, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
      • It killed the EU by providing irreputable proof that the publishing arm of Lucasbooks doesn't care anymore about what they put out there. There's continued use of the "drama for drama's sake" style of plotting that's been present ever since Sacrifice, the resolution of what was meant to be the A plot four books before it was supposed to be, and numerous grammatical errors that show it obviously didn't go through editing. TIEPilot051999 23:30, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
        • Yes, it had plenty of editorial mistakes, but that doesn't stop it from being a well-written book overall—it was fast paced and had good, in-character dialogue and decent descriptions. And I saw no "drama for drama's sake;" all the plotting going on was perfectly in character for the characters who were doing it. As for the "A plot," I guarantee you it is far from its resolution—they're going to try and learn what Abeloth was, which can lead to endless possibilities. There's obviously a lot more to the situation than we think we know, so just be patient for Vortex; the plot is far from over. But whether you agree or not, all of this is completely irrelevant to whether or not the above quote is good. Hence the title of the page "quote of the day," not "source of the day." There's another Allies quote on the "Other" page, under the Narrative text section. —Master Jonathan New Jedi Order (Jedi Council Chambers) 20:26, May 27, 2010 (UTC)
