[2021-02-27 19:01:07] <Tommy-Macaroni> Simply, I think we should remove era icons from all in-universe articles. There are several reasons for this, but to name a few:
[2021-02-27 19:01:25] <Tommy-Macaroni> There is some discrepancy as to the exact timeframes of some of these Legends eras, such as differences between Dark Horse's timeline and Del Rey.
[2021-02-27 19:01:33] <Tommy-Macaroni> Lucasfilm has stopped emphasising the importance of eras. They made a big push for them when they were first used, but they've kinda lost their prominence in recent years. Wookieepedia first started using eras because the original Databank featured them in a similar way, though that was dropped with the introduction of the Encyclopedia. With Lucasfilm no longer putting much emphasis on eras, I don't think we

[2021-02-27 19:01:55] <Tommy-Macaroni> The very nature of publishing eras is that they are OOU. They are not IU periods, they are an OOU construct to categorise the release of Legends media. It doesn't make sense to have them in IU articles. If an article has an era parameter in {{Eras}}, the article should really be stating either an IU time period or an exact date too. Removing publishing eras should result in no loss of information.
