Shikkar

  • Nominated by: Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 15:41, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: A weapon used by the Lost Tribe of Sith; my second TotJ/LE crossover. No, sadly, there are no available quotes whatsoever. And no major spoilers for anything since Fate of the Jedi: Abyss.

    • What does up to at least mean? Probably wrong here, but to me, they sound like "equal to or greater than and equal to or smaller than", which leaves 10cm as the only possible length.
      • The only known length is 10 centimeters—so they could be up to at least 10 centimeters in length. In other words, they could be at least 10 centimeters long, but maybe some were even longer. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:39, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • Blade width as narrow as a finger Isn't "blade width" redundant, as it's already in the field name? Also, for the body and infobox, is it known what species' finger it referred to?
      • Yep: Human; added. And I don't find it too redundant, considering the hilt width isn't known, so saying the whole thing was the width of a finger is probably incorrect. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:39, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • three Sith guilds that held a monopoly. Monopoly implies one guild, otherwise you could say that the... poultry industry is a monopoly of thousands of firms. Would a better term be oligopoly? It is kind of jargon though.
      • Changed to oligopoly; that seems to work best. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:39, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
    • Members of the guilds often employed the use of shikkars in attempts to assassinate rival guild members; and as such, the guilds began employing the use of bodyguards. Repetition of employed and used is not necessary, both places where you use them could be reduced to just one; use for shikkars and employed for bodyguards. • Fixed. Thanks for the review, Soresu! Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 02:39, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
