- The AC has agreed to treat existing GAs that surpass the 1000-word threshold the same as GAs that fall below the 250-word mark — which is to say that existing GAs must remain within that word limit in order to maintain GA status, in accordance with the GAN rules. Since this article began its Redux review, it has undergone a major expansion and currently sits at 1245 words in length, by my count, making it eligible to have its GA status removed. As the tender of this article, StarsiderSWG, you basically have two options here: You can technically revise the article to bring it back below 1000 words and thus satisfy the GA rules (which is obviously not preferable in this situation), or you can effectively surrender the Redux, in which case the article's GA status will be removed, but you can then renominate it for FAN status with its newly expanded word length.
