  • By 52 BBY, the Maladian group had been founded and had become well known for its capabilities. What capabilities? You don't specify what the Maladians do at the opening of the history unlike the intro.

Attack of the Clone
  • Seeing as the comic was out for eight years prior to being referenced in Plagueis and The Essential Reader's Companion, it seems almost a given fact that it would have been mentioned in other source material besides the comic relating to either Palpatine, Vidar Kim, or Ronhar Kim. At the very least, have you checked The Official Star Wars Fact File and The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia for direct or indirect mentions, even if it's not under "Maladian"? I don't have access to Star Wars: The Comics Companion right now, but that would almost definitely mention the assassins, as it references a ton of material from any comics released prior to its publication.
