Hello my friend!
  • Hello my friend! Always good to see new faces on the nomination pages. It looks like you've gotten a couple of other Imperial film characters to GA status before, though, so in that case, welcome back! Anyway, here are a few suggestions for ya.
  • Remember that the intro and the body operate separately --- a link to and context on Darth Vader are necessary in the bio.
    • Taken care of.
  • Since the personality and traits section is just a single sentence that's already stated verbatim in the bio, I think it might be best to leave it out.
    • I thought that all GA's needed them, however I would agree that the P & T was stated verbatim in both the bio and the intro. Hanzo Hasashi 13:34, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • GA's need them if there's enough relevant and unique info. Probably not the case with this guy.
  • The second paragraph in Behind the scenes needs an overhaul. "it would appear that", "possibly from a deleted scene", "appears to be", etc, all come off as pretty speculative, and speculation is a no-no. All of the info in that paragraph is good, but it needs to be reworded. I think it'd be fair to say that he was definitely meant to be in an extra scene, based on those images, but I don't know if the last two images are even worth mentioning, as it's basically conjecture that he might appear in them. Thoughts?
    • This is a copy-edit of Chiraneau's BTS. Looking at the photos, just like Chiraneau, the first four photos show Godherdt present, whilst the last two it is difficult to tell whether or not he is. So if this is unacceptable speculation, then another good article has the exact same bts info. Hanzo Hasashi 13:25, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • If I had been around back then, I would have objected. :^P If the first four photos definitely show Godhert present, then it's probably best to explicitly say that he was originally intended to be in additional scenes. Saying "possibly from deleted scenes" is straying into the realm of conjecture --- my opinion obviously isn't gospel, so I don't want to say that it's "unacceptable speculation", but it's always better to stick with what you know, ya know?
        • Reworded. Hanzo Hasashi 18:49, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • Even though it's in the behind the scenes section, a lot of the info in the third paragraph needs linking and context (Bespin, Executor, The Empire Strikes Back, Special Edition). Mentioning that Empire is from 1980 and that the SE is from 1997 would probably be sufficient for those last two.
    • This was a copy edit of the other GA's of Imperial characters who were on the Death Star during Vader's arrival, however will be fixed if you believe that it is necessary. Hanzo Hasashi 13:25, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • Taken care of. Hanzo Hasashi 13:34, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
        • Looks good. Can you specify that the Executor is Vader's Star Destroyer, though? And, just a thought, but maybe Cloud City would be a better word choice than Bespin?
          • Got that done. Hanzo Hasashi 18:49, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • Since the Special Editions are the most canonical versions of the films, shouldn't ESB (post-1997 releases only) be listed as an appearance?
    • We don't know if any of those Imperial officers are actually the same characters, as opposed to just played by the same actors. Several characters have been played by the same actors in the Star Wars films, including Bast and Unidentified Moradmin Bast look-alike. Hanzo Hasashi 13:25, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • Ah, I see. Sounds good.
  • Does any source actually say that he's part of the Imperial Army? Seems like an odd place for a fleet engineer.
    • Right, that was a copy editting mistake. Hanzo Hasashi 13:25, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • That's it for now. I love seeing film characters, no matter how minor, nommed! Menkooroo 08:54, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • I'm going to give it ooooooone more once-over, probably tonight. Menkooroo 08:25, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
Lee's charge
  • No redlinks are allowed in the intro. Clone Commander Lee Talk 17:44, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
    • Perhaps the page can be created, then. Will get to it at some point. Hanzo Hasashi 18:44, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • Linked to sensor now. Hanzo Hasashi 18:49, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
        • Not to butt in, but if the magnetic signature sensors are a unique canonical object, they should have their own article. (and thus this article needs to be linked there) 1358 (Talk) 12:39, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
          • Magnetic signature sensor. Hanzo Hasashi 15:11, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
  • Mention that he is a male Human in the bio.
    • Done. Hanzo Hasashi 18:44, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • Add the Imperial fleet to the affiliation in the infobox.
    • Done that. Hanzo Hasashi 18:44, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • Something about the destruction of the Death Star would be nice in the bio.
    • I'm not sure about that, because not all the Imperial personnel awaiting Vader's arrival, or Palpatine's arrival after that, were necessarily stationed on the battlestation during the Battle of Endor. Captain Sarkli was on Endor and killed by Han Solo, Admiral Chiraneau was on the Executor and died when it crashed into the battlestation, the named TIE pilots were flying in their fighters during the Endor battle. And I am certain that none of the Imperial army pilots and scout troopers awaiting Palpatine's arrival would be stationed onboard the Death Star. Still, I could be wrong, and maybe I should write something about how the Death Star was attacked, and the Imperial personnel on board attempted to escape, but I don't think it's necessary. Hanzo Hasashi 18:44, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • All from me. Clone Commander Lee Talk 17:56, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
Grunny
  • Have you checked Behind the Magic? There's a good chance he appears in it (same for Davod Jon). Grunny (talk) 01:43, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
    • No he is not. Hanzo Hasashi 17:13, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Toprawa
  • The article is missing essential information from The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:33, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Have made an entry on Forum:Entry requests, so right now this objection has yet to be taken care of. Hanzo Hasashi 19:36, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
      • Short of actually doing your research for you, I can tell you now that the CSWE entry establishes that he actually served aboard the Executor. Given this new information, as you resolve this objection I think we should seriously consider adapting his "appearance" in ESB as fully canonical, rather than leaving it strictly as an ambiguous BTS note. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:59, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
        • The problem is the fact that I do not actually own the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. As for the ESB appearance, I remembered a while back that even though Chiraneau was a part of the Executor, the reused footage of him in ESB could have been of a different character. Also, since the CSWE stated him being a part of the Executor, does it also mention him stationed onboard during the Battle of Endor too, or confirm if he was killed when it rammed the second Death Star? Hanzo Hasashi 21:13, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
          • Got it taken care of. Hanzo Hasashi 04:09, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
            • Not having access to a particular source item is not an excuse to not check it for information. You, as the nominator, are solely responsible for thoroughly researching every piece of source material in an article when nominating the article for status. It is not the responsibility of anyone else to do this for you. If you find you can't gain access to all the sources found in an article, then you shouldn't be nominating that article until you can. Ignoring the item is not an acceptable alternative. This is something you need to keep in mind in the future. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:39, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
              • Right, that is why most of my quality article (mostly comprehensive) nominations are of articles that are virtually unknown by other sources. With both of my nominations, I made the unprofessional decision of assuming that the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia wouldn't actually provide new information on them, seeing past good articles, whose CSWE entries, based on the sourcing, apparently did not provide any new information from what was available on the cards. Upon using Forum:Entry requests, I realized how I was wrong. In the future, I will no longer make nominations mentioned by sources I don't have. Hanzo Hasashi 22:04, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • The article is also missing information from the character's CCG card, which would very easily populate a P/T section. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:42, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Now got the P/T based on the fact he was technically brilliant. Hanzo Hasashi 19:36, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
      • Got everything needed from both CCG and CSWE for his P/T. Hanzo Hasashi 20:28, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • Why does the article categorize the character as an Imperial Army officer? He's clearly an enlisted Navy officer. Please revise. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:49, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • Because this was something that slipped under my radar for a long time, up until just now. It's been changed. Hanzo Hasashi 20:28, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
      • Please remember to check all elements of an article when nominating it for FA or GA status. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:53, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • In-line reference notes are formatted after punctuation, and there is no space between periods and reference notes. There are at least two such issues in the article. Please revise. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:09, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • I've tracked and gotten rid of them. Hanzo Hasashi 21:29, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • It's obvious that you've copy and pasted text directly from the Chiraneau article into both this article and Davod Jon. This article's second biography paragraph and just about the entire BTS is taken verbatim from the Chiraneau article. Copying text like this and pasting it shamelessly into different articles is not ok. Find a way to vary the text in this article so that all three articles don't read exactly the same. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:41, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
    • Have changed it, would I be allowed to copy my own work for Godhert's second paragraph to go into the same section in Davod Jon's page? Hanzo Hasashi 02:24, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
      • No. The point is that you shouldn't be copying substantial amounts of text directly from any article. If you're going to write a new article, take the time and make it an original piece of work. We're not mass-producing status articles here. And you still haven't done anything to the BTS. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:05, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
        • Have now. When I have time, I will also work on changing Davod Jon's BTS and the Darth Vader's arrival on the Death Star session of his bio. Hanzo Hasashi 01:53, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
          • You have done virtually nothing to change the BTS in this article. It still reads almost entirely verbatim to the Chiraneau article, which is unacceptable. You will need to rewrite it to change up the wording, or this nomination is going nowhere. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:54, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
          • I have reverted the changes made to the BTS since my last post. You're completely missing the point of the objection. The idea is to get you to reword/rework the BTS section so that the wording reflects your own writing, not someone else's or that of another article. That doesn't mean add 1,000 additional bytes of new text. It just means adjust the text that's already there. The BTS's level of detail is perfectly satisfactory, and nothing else needs to be added. This objection can be resolved as easily as just reordering some of the sentence organization with very minimal rewriting so that all three paragraphs don't begin and read exactly the same way as two other near-identical articles on this wiki. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:27, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
            • Check the final version, I think maybe I finally got it. Hanzo Hasashi 00:46, December 10, 2010 (UTC)
              • The first two paragraphs are much better. I rewrote the final one because it just kind of repeated itself from start to finish. We can tweak it if you have any issues with it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:33, December 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • Later on will do similar changes to Davod Jon's bio. Hanzo Hasashi 13:35, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • Please watch your formatting. All articles should make use of proper infobox formatting (in this case, {{Galactic Empire character infobox}}) instead of simply using what's already there, which is probably messed up in some way. CC7567 (talk) 06:27, November 27, 2010 (UTC)
