You have to end up voting for the review to count, right?
"For instance, the dianoga learned to change color, to hide in the depths, and to live from the scraps left behind by the carnivores" Do you feel strongly about keeping this sentence? While it has to do with that paragraph, it's hardly related to Vodrans and the paragraph could easily work without it.NaruHina Talk

- I've condensed the dianoga bit. It could be axed completely, as you suggest, but I kind of like the contrast being set up. Take another look, though, and let me know if you still think it's unnecessary. And thanks for the copy edit! ~Savage

Is there anything that can be added in relation to Ga'p'tashi? I understand he attacked Vodran.I am led to believe that Vodrans are in Legacy 33.Finally, a bit of a hunt, but have the Fact Files been checked? --Eyrezer 11:33, March 28, 2012 (UTC)- Check on Ga'p'tashi; nice catch. I'm not sure what I was smoking when I added them to the Appearances list on Legacy 33 -- I think I was looking for Knight Errant and someone ended on the wrong page! At any rate, I just checked that issue and there's no sign of Vodrans in it. The Fact Files will have to wait for a bit, but I've asked CavalierOne to check the likeliest places. Thanks for the review! ~Savage

The third paragraph of Bio and appearance has a few short and kinda choppy sentences in succession. Can you do some rewording? The first paragraph of history indicates that they evolved from non-sentient reptiles... do you think a quick mention of this should go in the "Biology" section?Menkooroo 03:19, May 2, 2012 (UTC)- Cool, check that on the choppiness. As for evolutionary info, I tend to put it only in history, since I think "Biology and appearance" should generally be reserved for the most evolved form of the species we know of (in this case, the sentient form). Does that make sense? ~Savage

The first sentence of the final paragraph of "Xim Wars" seems like it's restating info which has already been said. Is it necessary?- I can see where you're coming from, but to me, it establishes now so much what happened in the battle, but what happened as a result of the battle: Xim's final defeat, and the happy feeling of a bunch of bloodthirsty Vodrans. What do you think? ~Savage

Kerra Holt is actually the only Jedi present at the Battle of Gazzari --- the Daimanite is fighting the Odionate, and Kerra is acting alone in an attempt to protect a group of children. Axinal FA'd the Battle of Gazzari if you need more.- Fixed? ~Savage

Since the Star Wars Roleplaying Game is mentioned by name in the BTS, could Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game get a shoutout too?- Required a bit of rewording, but you're right. Done! ~Savage

Do you think that anything else from the "Appearances" and "Sources" sections merit mention in the BTS? Their first appearance in Knight Errant, their misspelling in Privates and Privateers?- Yeah, I can see that as helpful. Both added. Thanks for the review! ~Savage

"Some of them were Force-sensitive and had the capacity to become users of the Force." A little redundant, don't you think?I find some of the language in the History section, especially in the parts about the war with Xim, to be a bit too flowery and unencyclopedic. Do what you can to rectify this. It's not that much of a problem, but should be dealt with somewhat.I think you can probably add a tidbit in the History section about the end of the Treaty of Vontor in the FotJ series, even though the Vodrans may not be specifically mentioned in the source material.- Nice work. - I've fixed the first thing, and addressed the second in the BTS. From the source, it's unclear to me whether the Vodrans were released from servitude as well (and I'm not entirely sure why the Nikto were, but that's what the book says). As for the unencyclopedic language, can you give me some examples? I think you might be referring to the "fire rained down" bit, but that's supposed to explain the events from the Vodrans' point of view, and that's how the source explains it from their perspective. Then maybe you're referring to the paragraph about the skald Pupaku? That paragraph is describing the events he related in his epic poetry, and the tone will understandably be that of literature rather than history. Or was there something else? ~Savage

Also unlike Hutts, Vodrans had two-part names, such as Meido Lycri, Kl'ietu Mutela, Lakren Plooru, and Saran Vydek.[2] - why are you not linking/ creating articles for these characters? I suspect it's because they are used as example Vodran names, but your use of them here indicates that they are actual individuals.an urban uprising known as the Thruncon Insurrection destroyed most of Vodran's cities and killed several Vodrans soon before the start of the Galactic Civil War.[19] - "several Vodrans"? Considering whole cities were destroyed this seems rather low. Do you mean several thousand/hundred/million or does the source actual say several?- Cavalier One(Squadron channel) 14:05, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review! As for the names, we only know one of those is a named individual, and my general practice in these cases is to link that individual when they are discussed as a person, rather than when only their name is under consideration (as is often the case with the name lists from Ultimate Alien Anthology). The other names on that list are, as far as we know, only hypothetical examples of Vodran names, since no characters have so far been associated with them. I checked the source on the insurrection, and the CSWE doesn't actually mention it. SWAJ does, and it only mentions two Vodrans dying (Nnaksta's parents), so I've reworded accordingly. Take a look! ~Savage

- I think a case can be made for creating articles for these example Vodran since generally the AA lists notable members of the species, rather than common names and translations like the Gamer articles used to. I'm not going to push it, though, but its something to consider. For what its worth, the CUSWE lists them individually and describes them as notable Vodran individuals - Cavalier One

Any thought to whether a mention of Niado Deugad's species would be appropriate? That will depend on whether it has been confirmed to be native to Vodran, and I am not sure of that. --Eyrezer 11:33, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
- My thought is no, since all we know is that Duegad is from Vodran, but not necessarily his entire species. ~Savage
