Velmoc

  • Nominated by: ~SavageBOB sig 04:33, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: Haven't nominated anything Marvel lately. This plus Dubravan show that not much changed with regard to silly aliens after Dark Horse took over the comics licsense.

  • Given the similar spelling, it might be prudent to add a {{Youmay}} to this and Velmor.
  • I couldn't work out why there was a [sic] in the "Biology and appearance" quote, but I presume that it is meant to say Vermoc? In that case, I think it'd be worthy of a Bts note (if not because the quote is confusing otherwise).
  • Some context on Mrid would be useful, especially as the link appears to lead to the creature's article. "A date equivalent to [..]" would probably suffice if not much is actually known about Mrid.
  • "Anod, too, was killed in the forest." What forest?
  • That's all from me. —NAYAYEN 00:48, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
    • All should be addressed (and I'll get to your comments below soon). Except for the Mrid thing, that is: can you elaborate on what you mean? The dating system used on the planet seems to name things for animals, so the link seems appropriate to me. And I do give the approximate date in BBY years immediately thereafter. What is it you think needs changing? ~SavageBOB sig 15:12, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
      • From your explanation now, it was that they used the creature's name for the year. In hindsight, it should be easy to figure out that it is akin to the Chinese calendar (Year of the Dragon etc). Adding this info to the creature's article at some point would be a very good idea, but that won't stop me supporting this. Nice work, Bob, —NAYAYEN 15:20, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
        • Yeah, the problem with adding too much on the calendar is that it's the Velmorian (Human inhabitants') calendar, not the Velmoc's necessarily, yet it is the dominant calendar on the planet, so it seems appropriate to go with those dates. Thanks for the review! ~SavageBOB sig 19:35, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
Eyrezer
  • "the Velmoc faced their potential extermination by the Imperial Captain Zeta Traal. However, during the uprising that upended the Velmorian monarchy," The however is off-putting here. I expect you to say something in relation to their potential extermination, but you do not..." Can you change the "however"? --Eyrezer 11:59, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
    • How's that read now? ~SavageBOB sig 15:14, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
Velma?
  • Mofference... periods... blargh.
  • Bio and appearance describes the elbow things as a single wedge-shaped crest, but the infobox goes for "spiked elbows," which seems to more accurately reflect the images (multiple spikes rather than a single crest). Can you make the body more like the infobox? The infobox does say "crest," but as it's singular, I interpreted it as the head thing.
  • What do you think about articles on the coup and the uprising mentioned in the intro (and the body)? We seem to have some precedent, such as... hang on... a-ha! Also this.
  • Just want to make sure: In "310th Year of the Ycaqt," Year should be capitalized, but not in "313th year of the Mrid?"
  • Eat spaghettios!!! Menkooroo 04:24, February 14, 2012 (UTC)
    • I've axed the periods and clarified the elbows (they look like crests to me, albeit wavy ones). I'll stub the coup soon (I don't like "event" articles, since they replicate plot summaries in cases like this, but I can see the call for it). I think the coup and uprising should probably share the same article, since one immediately led to the other. What do you think? I'll get to the other stuff soon! ~SavageBOB sig 16:07, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
      • Sounds good. Be sure to get on those spaghettios ASAP. Menkooroo 03:59, February 17, 2012 (UTC)
        • Chomping down in earnest once a couple of papers are turned in at school... I did check the Year of the / year of the thing. In the OS, it's capitalized inconsistently, per this article. Probably an editing oversight, but I guess we're stuck with the inconsistency. Will stub that rebellion soon! ~SavageBOB sig 12:10, February 22, 2012 (UTC)
        • Coup stubbed! ~SavageBOB sig 12:38, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

  • Just noting that I've redlinked Arloc as it appears to be a specific, named month which I couldn't find an article for. It also sounds like there is enough info to create (stub, or at least redlink it for later) an article for the "Imperial-supported uprising", which could probably also include the info about Treel's later plan. NB. I've moved these from being objections, as they could be redlinked without stopping this passing. —NAYAYEN 13:11, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
    • Do you think it's enough for Arloc to redirect to Velmorian calendar? ~SavageBOB sig 16:08, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
      • We have articles for the Tapani calendar, so I don't think it'd be unreasonable for Arloc to have its own article. Depends how inclusionist you want to be, I'm not too worried either way. —NAYAYEN 16:20, February 18, 2012 (UTC)
