Oxygen

Support

  1. It may not have anything to do with Star Wars, but why should that stop us? —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 13:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  2. It abides by all the regulations, and I learned something. Darth Maddolis 13:25, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Oppose

  • No proper intro (rule 7), insufficient info from all appearances and sources (rule 9), what little info is there isn't all cited properly (rule 11), no images--since oxygen is canonically part of breathable air this should be easy (rule 15), and some might argue that copying from Wikipedia violates rule 1. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 14:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
    • How can it violate rule one? What's wikipedia got to do with whether or not the article is well written? KEJ 14:35, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
      • Because it wasn't written at all, it was copied. But that's a minor point. It still clearly breaks four rules. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 14:44, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
        • But it doesn't break rule 1, so unless you remove references to rule one, your objection would be invalid I guess, wouldn't it. Of course, I didn't make the rules, and it's not my job to enforce them. KEJ 14:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Oh my. It is really short for an FA. Really short. Jorrel Wiki-shrinkable Fraajic 19:03, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Per Culator, and POINT. And childishness. .... 23:08, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Per Culator and Jorrel. I have no objection to this being an FA if you can get it there, but it's got to meet the criteria. jSarek 03:30, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Length, lacking specific appearances (I'm not talking about every appearances with a planet with breathable atmosphere, just where oxygen is specifically mentioned), lack of available images, lack of available canonical information, copied from Wikipedia (unless this has been changed already). —Xwing328(Talk) 19:23, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Comments

  • Seeing as we can have other articles with nothing to do with Star Wars, I see no reason not to have this. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 13:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Copying other websites is bad. How can we get onto TFN for copying our stuff when we copy Wikipedia? Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Audience Chamber) 15:33, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  • How hilarious. Ooh ooh, my sides are hurting! Please stop! Seriously though, can you prove that oxygen has the same properties in the Star Wars galaxy as in our atmosphere? No, you cannot. Is this anything like Burl Ives? No, it is not. One is a canon representation of an element that just so happens to have the same name in Star Wars, one is a real-life person of which we should try to contain relevant facts and a biography. Stop being so damn petty. Cull Tremayne 19:08, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  • This is why we have WP:POINT. - Lord Hydronium 19:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Copying from Wikipedia was the original foundation of the site. And it's quite legal, thanks to GFDL. And it's inaccurate to say that this has nothing to do with Star Wars. It's completely canon, and it's got more appearances than Darca Nyl, our current FA. —Unsigned comment by LtNOWIS (talk • contribs)
