Lutrillian

  • Nominated by: SavageBob 12:14, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Nomination comments: One of the more recent original trilogy species to have been given a backstory. I'm proud to say that this is the most comprehensive article on the species available anywhere.

  1. Nice to see a new FA nominator. A couple of things:
    • "Their facial furrows changed with their emotions, deepening, for example." Is there something missing here? Is it "deepening, for example, with anger" or something?
    • I think it would be appropriate to mention some of the colonies established by the Luts in their history section, not just in the LitG section. And include some info about their efforts on Mijos etc.
    • You may also want to include a subsection such as this Lepus_Carnivorus#Common_Lepi_names... or if you think of a more elegant way of including that info...
    • I tracked down another appear in Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand 2. You should add a little bit on that, and may like to include this image.
    • Finally, you also have the option of using the Jedi Knights Trading Card Game image of Solomahal if you so desire. I added the full link into the sources section. --Eyrezer 01:15, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the critique and suggestions. I'll respond item by item.
  • The thing about the facial furrows comes from Secrets of the Jedi when Solomahal is first introduced. It's obvious that he's feeling some emotion, but there's no indication of what it is. It's probably pride or excitement, but it would be speculation on my part to assume this, so I decided to play it safe. Do you have any idea how it might be better worded?
  • Good point. I'll add some mention of their spread to these worlds in the "History" section as well.
  • I'm unaware of any source that provides a list of common Lutrillian names. Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds gives a list of example names, but it doesn't say that they're common. (I've noticed this problem with many Wookieepedia alien articles; they assume that the Ultimate Alien Anthology lists of example names are common names, something completely different.)
  • Good find. I've included the image and added a note about the fact that the Lutrillian child has only three fingers!
  • That's a good pic. I'll consider it. I like the fact that the infobox picture is facing inward toward the text, but it's possible that image could be used somewhere else.
Please let me know if there are any other concerns. SavageBob 12:29, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
  1. Toprawa:
    • For starters, please organize the article according to the Layout guide. Once it's in the correct order, I'll feel more comfortable to review it as a finalized product.
    • Please also order the Source list by correct OOU publication date. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:49, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
      • Done and done. --SavageBob 05:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Very nicely done, an exemplary job. I hope you continue to write FAs. I have a few lingering concerns, however. First, for these two ambig/non-canon sources, is there no information that can be gleaned from them, if only a BTS mention? Typically, we reserve a "Non-canon" BTS history subsection for this type of stuff if there's enough content. Also, "Picture only" tags are usually reserved for Sources only. Even if the species just appears as a background character in a comic or something, he's still "appearing," so we wouldn't need the Po tag.
    • Second, per rule 13, "A leading quote at the beginning of the article will be required only if there is quotable dialogue by or about the subject," if another quote cannot be found to head up the article, I feel one of the body quotes should be thrown up there. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:56, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
      • Thanks for the kind words. As for the non-canon/ambiguously-canon sources, neither really has anything new; they just feature Lutrillian "walk-ons" who don't speak or have any part in the story. As for the quotes, I'll take a look. It's possible one of them is sufficiently "generic" enough to work. Thanks again! SavageBob 00:15, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
        • I think it would be good to still explain in the BTS what you just told mere here, that they are mere background characters in Story X and Y, but are to be considered non-canon, etc. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:26, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

  • This is not an objection per se, but do you think some of the image captions could be shortened? --Eyrezer 16:31, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
    • I tightened them up a bit while trying to keep them descriptive. Hope that's better! SavageBob 08:59, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
