  • Infobox: The "purpose" field ... surely its role as a personal offence/defence weapon should be mentioned as well? The sabers aren't built to purely protect the Emperor, but to assist the Knights in their duties which includes missions away from the Emperor.
  • Intro: a Force-using order that served various Empires throughout its history - various Empires? I thought it was only the Fel Empire the Knights served. The Empire-in-Exile is a continuation of the Fel Empire after Krayt's usurpation of the throne. Even allowing for the Empire-in-Exile to be a separate state, using "various" implies a larger number of Empires that just two. Perhaps it would be better to state that the Knight's served the Fel Emperor instead rather than the Empire? This applies to its mention in the body of the article as well.
  • Other than than, nice work. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 10:08, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the review. I'll get on these soon, but in the meantime, I thought I'd let you know that the Legacy Era Campaign Guide does indeed explicitly name the weapon "Imperial Knight lightsaber." I've removed the conjecture tag and made some changes accordingly. Check them out. Menkooroo 10:26, August 4, 2011 (UTC)
      • OK! Mischief managed. I agree with you about the Fel Empire and the Empire-in-exile, and, after giving it some thought, I've removed Galactic Federation Triumvirate from the affiliation field of the infobox. There's too much we don't know about it, and we can't say for sure that the IKs served it when it's just as likely that they continued to serve the Fel Empire/Empire-in-exile, whose Empress was also a member of the Triumvirate. Anyway, take a look at the changes and lemme know what ya think. Menkooroo 06:45, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Prepare to be savaged…
  • Just a few things: First, is there any indication in the sources when the customs described in "Description" came about? It might be nice to dovetail a little more smoothly into the History section, which kind of just starts with "They were used from this date and were used here and here and here." There's no notion of an evolution, development, etc. If the sources simply don't address this, though, c'est la vie.
    • Marasiah and Azlyn are using their custom lightsabers in the comics as early as 137 ABY, but there's no indication of when they built them, and no added detail given on them in any of the sourcebooks. I imagine that Del Rey will detail the creation of the IKs and their weapons in a few years, but for now, their origins, development, and evolution are a mystery. "They were in use as early as 130 ABY" is literally the earliest thing we can say about them. :/
  • In BTS, would it be possible to replace "a number of" with an actual number? It seems that here it should be possible to count the issues and avoid the vague term.
    • Yeah, I guess "a number of" is kind of vague. I've gone and rejigged the sentence. However, I tried to do it without adding the exact "in twenty-five issues," as counting and giving an exact number seems like a little overkill for a comic series that ran for fifty issues (eg, it would probably be OK to say something like "Darth Vader was a recurring character in Marvel Star Wars" rather than "he appeared in exactly forty-three issues"). I can understand counting the number of books for something like a nine-book series, but when you're dealing with a comic that ran for as long as Legacy did, giving the exact number of issues for a main character/weapon seems a little much, IMO. With that said, I've changed the sentence to use less vague language; let me know what you think.
  • Finally, I'm not sure the last paragraph of BTS is necessary. We tend not to mention merchandising unless it somehow adds to canon (like Dice Ibegon's body, or the Ewok battelwagon's origins in a Kenner toy). Can you retool this paragraph a bit to make it pertinent to our purposes? Or should it be axed? ~SavageBOB sig 16:04, August 11, 2011 (UTC)
    • There's actually overwhelming precedent for mentioning EU action figures that don't add anything to canon: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7, to name a few. I can add something similar to what Havac does, if you want, emphasizing the fact that it's a relatively rare accomplishment for something from the EU. Thoughts? Menkooroo 02:52, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
      • Yeah, as far as I remember, any mention of merchandising has usually been met with, "That's for the SW Merchandising Wiki." Aren't all/most of their Hasbro incarnations tied to one of the comic packs that include a comic book inside? That might be something worth mentioning; the comic book would be something to talk about in conjunction to the characters. And, yeah, maybe noting the rarity of EU toys would be a nice touch. ~SavageBOB sig 04:06, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
        • Ah, good call on the comics. Added in a mention of them. I also added a bit to the beginning of the paragraph about the rarity of EU weapons being released in toy-form. Take a look, baby! Menkooroo 05:51, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

  • The second para of the intro can be summarized a bit more, mainly because to give such specific examples begs the question of their significance over others. A nice yet somewhat broader summary would be equally as effective.
    • Check it out now. I've replaced the Sinde example with a broader summary, but left the Vendaxa stuff in, as it includes an explanation of its significance regarding Cade 'N stuff.
  • "The Imperial Knights used their lightsabers to battle their way through Sith and Sith troopers" the last part of this makes it sound as though the troopers were separate from the Sith.
    • Good good now?
  • That's all. You did very well with this, and got the hang of this article type on your first try.—Tommy 9281 Friday, August 19, 2011, 22:56 UTC
    • Thanks. And for the copy-edit too; I really like a lot of the stuff you added. Menkooroo 15:29, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
      • No problem, I recognize that many folks probably haven't come across such obscure yet pertinent articles.—Tommy 9281 Monday, August 29, 2011, 01:47 UTC
  • Just one more. "Draco and Krieg flanked her, holding their ignited lightsabers aloft as those in attendance mourned the death of the Emperor." Looking closely at the image, these appear to be polearm lightsabers, not standard ImpKnightSabers.—Tommy 9281 Monday, August 29, 2011, 01:53 UTC
    • Ooooooh. Good eye. Looks like an update to the infobox and "Description" section is in order, too. :) Menkooroo 15:31, August 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • My first weapon nom, so definitely bring on the constructive criticism. I used Lumiya's lightwhip as a major precedent, particularly in regards to the "History" section. I've tried to keep it focused on the lightsaber while still advancing the plot of the Civil War in a bare-bones and Imperial Knight-centric way. Let me know if you think it's still too much.
