Darth Bane
- Nominated by: Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:51, December 28, 2015 (UTC)
- Nomination comments: This article currently has GA status. For some reason, during its review as a GA nom, we all overlooked the fact that this is over 1,000 words and therefore too long to be a GA. This nomination is to bring it up to FA status. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 17:51, December 28, 2015 (UTC)

Any chance you could add in that the Force Priestesses were responsible for the illusion of Bane? In "Sacrifice," after Yoda rejects the offer to join the dark side made by Bane's specter, the Force Priestesses tell Yoda that "All your trials you have faced have been our doing."Cevan(talk) 19:21, January 4, 2016 (UTC)
- There's no source, to my knowledge, that says it was an illusion. It's referred to extensively as a specter. So saying it was the Force Priestesses who created an illusion—as opposed to, say, putting Yoda into a situation where he would encounter Bane—is speculative. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:37, January 4, 2016 (UTC)
- Doesn't Yoda call the specter of Bane an illusion in "Sacrifice?" Cevan

- Is that an in-universe fact, or is it Yoda's belief or assertion? StarWars.com calls it a specter, which means a ghost. That's why this article uses the term specter (as well as including Yoda's statement, factual or not, that it was an illusion) without assuming one side or another. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:49, January 4, 2016 (UTC)
- Hmmm. I was looking through Pablo Hidalgo's tweets from the past few days, and he says that Bane was just a vision as a part of Yoda's trials, and not a spirit. Add that in with the fact that the Sith (in canon) cannot live on after death and the Force Priestesses saying everything Yoda had encountered (before he entered chamber once used to sacrifice Jedi) had been their doing as a part of his trials, and it seems the Priestesses were indeed responsible for Bane's "specter." - We can tweak it to say it was a vision, but I'm not going to add that the Force Priestesses conjured it until there's a source saying so. Is it probably true? Sure, but it's never been outright stated. Someone asked Pablo that question yesterday, though, so if he replies and affirms then I'll gladly add it in. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:12, January 4, 2016 (UTC)

Preliminary objection: The article should use the most up-to-date referencing available. I'm seeing that the most commonly-used citation in the article is the now-defunct Encyclopedia. Go through the article and update all Encyclopedia references you can to the new Databank. Certainly the two infobox citations for his death date and sex can be sourced to the Databank, if not everything else in the article.Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:12, January 5, 2016 (UTC)- Some things for Darth Bane are only in the Encyclopedia. I've updated the only one that can be sourced to the Databank. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:36, January 5, 2016 (UTC)
- Is there nothing in Ultimate Star Wars that can replace the Encyclopedia references? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:44, January 5, 2016 (UTC)
- I was able to add an Ultimate Star Wars reference, but that didn't actually remove any Encyclopedia references. Reliance on the Encyclopedia for sourcing is just a reality of this particular subject, since he doesn't appear in many canonical sources at this point. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:45, January 7, 2016 (UTC)
