- You raise an interesting point. I have investigated and as far as I can tell, there is no connection. Force Convergence says that the MK series included protocol and battle droids, but mentions nothing about maintenance droids, and I think the intention was for the MK series to just be line of various different droid classes that had been rebranded in commemoration of Master Kirlocca. Furthermore, none of the sources listed in the MK-series maintenance droid article seem to suggest any connection between the two series'. I guess that such a link is possible, but at the moment we don't have anything other than their similar names to base it on.
