Since the game mechanics thing is still being debated (and I'm so busy with school that I can't participate in that debate as much as I'd like), I can't object on something that is not established in policy one way or another. ~ SavageBob 06:38, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Isn't he based on an unused concept alien from ROTJ? If so, you probably should talk about that and add some sources for wherever that maquette has appeared. I'll check Chronicles for you when I get a chance. ~ SavageBob 05:53, November 9, 2010 (UTC)- I think he's just a realistic-looking dude from the CCG. Wookieepedia editors in the past thought he was from the cantina scene, but I think he's a CCG-original E.T. kinda thing. If you think that info's from Chronicles, yeah, It'd be great if you could check it out. Menkooroo 06:13, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
Here ya go: He was one of many alien designs for Jabba's Palace that never made it past the maquette stage. He never received a name and was known simply as "Alien 23" among the crew. Chronicles includes this caption under the image of his maquette: "'The thinker' among aliens?" (Chronicles pp. 242-243). If he's in Chronicles, he may be in Behind the Magic, too, so I'll check that later. ~ SavageBob 06:18, November 9, 2010 (UTC)- Holy crap. You are awesome. Thank you. ^^ Is the image of his maquette the same one from the ccg card? Menkooroo 06:23, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, the maquette photo (front view) was simply Photoshopped into a cantina booth, it looks like. Chronicles has a side-view image as well, though. In other news, he's in Behind the Magic (or his maquette is), on a table with a ton of other Jabba's Palace maquettes. No info on him, but it's a visual reference, I guess. ~ SavageBob 06:24, November 9, 2010 (UTC)You can find his maquette image here. (It's funny you decided to CA this guy, since I finished expanding Tocoyan, another abandoned Jabba's Palace alien, last week, so had all the sources at hand!) ~ SavageBob 06:34, November 9, 2010 (UTC)- OK! I've given the bts a complete overhaul. Thank you so, so much for the info and the image. Seriously, that's really cool of you. Surprisingly, the article is still easily CA length, so take a look and tell me what you think! Menkooroo 07:03, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Happy to oblige! :) ~ SavageBob 16:05, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

OK, next thing: Can we claim that Dor Nameth is theformer quarterback of the New York Jetshomeworld of his species, or just of Glee?- Whoops, misread that sentence on the card. Remedied.
There should be a {{1stp}} or something next to Chronicles. --Eyrezer 19:31, November 23, 2010 (UTC)- I'm hesitant to do that, since it's not a picture of Brangus --- it's a picture of the wooden maquette that Brangus was based on. The character wouldn't go on to exist for another year. Keeping that in mind, I've modified Behind the Magic's (Picture only) to read {{C|Picture of maquette only}e}. Menkooroo 01:34, November 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, but then shouldn't that also Pmo also be added to Chronicles? What made me notice this is that the earliest published source (Chronicles) lacked a label. --Eyrezer 19:20, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Chronicles has more than just the picture of the maquette; it has all of the info from the first paragraph of the article's bts. Some sort of tag might be in order, though, yeah... how's (Maquette only) ? Menkooroo 03:42, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

- Perhaps some note of his CCG abilities in the BTS? He seems fairly weak offense-wise, but he gets a boost when he's in a cantina. His "ability" indicates that he's pretty astute at defense. He has the skill needed to pilot a vehicle or fire a weapon. Characters can move to or from his location for free, provided he's at a docking bay. He avoids most low cases of attrition (death not directly related to battle). It's a lot of abilities for one little guy, but some summary might be in order. ~ SavageBob 16:05, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly, adding card game stats to the bts seems kinda fluffish to me. As a comparison, I've never noted RPG stats in the bts sections of characters who are profiled in the Legacy Era Campaign Guide or any other WEG or WOTC sourcebook. If the bts were pretty slim, it admittedly couldn't hurt, but with all the info that's in the bts already (thanks to you! :^D), I don't really see it as necessary. Menkooroo 16:26, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
- I always do this, since Chee's gone on record that game stats are considered pseudo-canon in that an author can very well use them to base the a character's abilities on when they use that character in fiction. My personal practice is to indicate what things are different from average, so in his case, his card's good defensive abilities, and perhaps the fact that he's more powerful in a cantina (which fits in with his lore). The fact that he can drive and fire a weapon are perhaps negligible (who can't in Star Wars?), and the docking bay thing is kind of neither here nor there. What do you think about simply noting the cantina thing, good defensive value, and calling it a night? ~ SavageBob 19:31, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
- I still don't like the idea of it. When adding stats for one character is mandated, then it sets a precedent for noting stats in bts sections of every character who has ever had RPG or card game stats. Should Havac beef up Wedge's bts with a few paragraphs detailing the stats given to Wedge in every sourcebook he's ever been in? I really don't mean to be stubborn or contrarian here (you know I think you're awesome!), but noting card game stats in a bts section just doesn't seem all that necessary to me. If a one-sentence bts section could use some beefing, it couldn't hurt, but otherwise, it kinda seems like trivia. An author can use the stats, sure, but they can just as easily discard them if they want. Menkooroo 04:17, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
- I'd argue that, yes, Wedge's article should probably note any exceptional game stats he's got in his various incarnations. As I said, I always try to do this, whether the stats come from an RPG, a CCG, or a video game. In my opinion, our articles are sources for SW authors. I know of at least a few who have stated they use Wookieepedia as a resource when working on their novels or comics. In addition, I feel that game stats add color. It's kind of fun to know that Character X is a badass with the Klatooinan nunchuks even though his bio doesn't reference it, say; it allows us to mention something that otherwise isn't part of the larger article. And finally, it's part of being comprehensive in my opinion. We need to cover these characters and species and vehicles from all sorts of angles, not just their in-universe ones. But, then, I'm unaware of any policy on this, so I won't oppose based on it, I guess. ~ SavageBob 04:52, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Don't give up yet! Objections don't have to be strictly based on what is and what isn't policy. Like everything else we've discussed in the past week, I'm interested in the community's thoughts on this. To the Senate Hall? Menkooroo 05:40, November 10, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm cool with that. I started the last one, though. ;P ~ SavageBob 18:48, November 11, 2010 (UTC)
