Any time we link to a site in prose, we should be using a webarchive link to prevent link rot. NBDani(they/them)Yeager's Repairs 13:27, 19 March 2024 (UTC)

- Missed the link in prose (thanks Dani)... but we're not supposed to put directly link to external websites in the prose, that's the whole aim of the reference, it's redundant. NanoLuukeCloning Facility 14:27, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I personally like doing it, and I think it's helpful for any potential readers who don't entirely comprehend the references Lewisr (talk) 22:54, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- This practice has been actively pushed aside during and since the archival push of 2020 (maybe before even), to ensure that all our links to external website are properly archived and supported by our citation ecosystem. Proactively including links in prose would legitimize a practice that actually has the potential to deteriorate our citation/archival ecosystem, because it would provide a precedent to editors, who in turn might not understand that such link must always be archival links.
