What about adding Republic Navy to the affiliations?Darth Morrt 02:43, January 2, 2011 (UTC)- Unfortunately, this is something that we are unable to prove. Regarding the character's affiliation, the source merely describes Kuldi as a "Republic Jedi". In addition, whilst the source infers that the Fifth Fleet was a Republic unit, is does not explicitly state that, so there is no basis to assume that Kuldi was affiliated with the Republic navy. --Jinzler 18:40, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

- Does anything suggest that Ai-Ari's Fifth Fleet is not the same as the Open Cirkle's Fifth Fleet? The fleets and other large units have unique numbers. There shouldn't be two differnet Fifth Fleet in the Republic Navy. Darth Morrt 02:43, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Firstly, as I have stated above, we cannot be certain that the Fifth Fleet was a Republic unit. Regardless of that, while there is nothing to suggest that Kuldi's Fifth Fleet is not the same as the Fifth Fleet of the Open Circle Fleet, there is nothing to suggest that they are the same either. We therefore have no evidence to assume that they are the same and it is perfectly possible that there could be more than one Fifth Fleet within the Republic Navy, for example, hypothetically speaking, there could be a Fifth Fleet of the Open Triangle Fleet, or a Fifth Fleet of the Open Hexagon Fleet, or some other fleet name that includes the term "Fifth Fleet". Its not an assumption that I would be comfortable to make, given the evidence we have. --Jinzler 18:40, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Kuldi says that "You are on your own," so Kuldi is not with the independent Cularians and is not with the Seps either, because Kuldi is a "Republic Jedi". IMO, it is safe to assume that the Fifth Fleet is a Republic unit, because it is under the command of a "Republic Jedi". If we assume that the Fifth Fleet is a Republic unit, we should assume that it is identical to the Fifth Fleet of theOpen Circle Armada, because the numbered designations are unique. Designations such as Third Fleet, 23rd Battilion or 11st Hussar Regiment are unique in every real-world military. There cannot be such a thing like Fifth Fleet of the Open Triangle Fleet. It is also stated in the Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic, that "division number do not necessary correspond to actual army population. E. g., there are not 326 Star Corps before the 327th." There is only one Fifth Fleet in the Republic Navy and in the time of the Battle of Coruscant, it is part of the Open Circle Armada. - That Kuldi is affiliated with the Republic is not under debate, so the fact that he says Cularin is on its own is irrelevant, and may not neccessarily have been stated in his capacity as Fifth Fleet commander, but in his capacity as a "Republic Jedi". The fact that he is a Republic Jedi also does not make the fleet part of the Republic Navy, as it is possible to describe Rahm Kota as a "Republic Jedi", yet the unit he commanded during the Clone Wars was not part of the Republic Navy, so that Kuldi was a "Republic Jedi" is not enough evidence to assume that the Fifth Fleet was part of the Republic. In addition you seem have to misinterpreted my argument regarding the Fifth Fleet, so perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The Fifth Fleet of the Open Circle Fleet is only the fifth part of the Open Circle Fleet and as it is reasonably possible that the Republic had other fleets of similar size to the Open Circle Fleet, and that such fleets might have "Fifth Fleets" of their own. That is of course speculation, but assuming that the fleet referred to the the source is the Fifth Fleet of the Open Circle is equally speculative and breeches Wookieepedia:Attribution. - Ok, the mention of Kota's militia convinced me that Kuldi's Fifth Fleet is maybe not the Republic's Fifth Fleet, altough IMO the author's intention was reference to the Cross-section book's Fifth Fleet in the Open Circle. It is irrelevant now, but I still maintain that there isn't another Fifth Fleet in the Republic. The first source of the Fifth Fleet is the ROTS Cross-section, which mentiones "Fifth Fleet in the Open Circle armada". It is not the fifth part of the fleet, but a unique unit of the Navy just like the 327th Star Corps is a unique unit of the GAR. E. g., if the 327th Star Corps is part of the Second sector army, than there could not be another 327th Star Corps in the Third sector army. The hundreds of fleets of the Republic have all a unique designation (Fifth, Sixth, Ninetieth, etc.) They are presumably parts of larger Fleet groups, such as the Open Circle, but they still have teir own unique designation, such as Fifth Fleet.
