"A good clone knows how to recognize a great warrior, and this armor should help channel the strength of a Wookiee."
―Wookiee clone trooper description[1]

The Wookiee clone trooper were specialized clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic. Despite the name, they were not actually Wookiee clones, but rather were named because their armor was patterned after the fur and equipment of the Wookiees.

The overall armor resembled that of the standard Katarn-class commando armor utilized by the clone commandos. The armor apparently also augmented the clone's strength to be comparable to that of a Wookiee. The overall set cost about 2,900 credits, with the specific costs being 400 credits for the gloves and boots; 900 credits for the helmet; and 1,200 credits for the main armor.

Behind the scenes

The armor was not based on any particular character, and was an invention of SOE. In addition, it's the only special costume gear that was neither released during either a real-life holiday nor during a special in-game event, although it was suspected by some players to have been meant for the holiday Father's Day.
