Whip-snakes were a type of snake known for being smart. While on the Outer Rim planet Akiva[1] in 4 ABY,[2] the woman Shirene, the sister-in-law of New Republic pilot Norra Wexley, compared the intelligence of Norra's son Temmin Wexley to that of a whip-snake while the ladies spoke about the challenges of raising him.[1]

Whip-snakes were mentioned in Aftermath, a 2015 novel written by Chuck Wendig as the first installment in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.[1]
