- "The TIEs are accelerating, Now it's a race."
- ―Wenton Chan during the Battle of Yavin
Wenton Chan was a male individual who served as a pilot in the Rebel Alliance's Red Squadron during the Galactic Civil War.[2] In 0 BBY,[3] Chan was not selected to participate in the Battle of Yavin and remained stationed at the Great Temple on Yavin 4 during the battle. He was a cool, analytically minded pilot, praised for his placid exterior and wore an orange flight suit.[2]
Behind the scenes
Wenton Chan's Legends appearance in A New Hope
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Wenton Chan was identified by the Star Wars Customizable Card Game as an unnamed Rebel pilot seen during the takeoff sequence of in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope,[4][5] later established as a member of Red Squadron by the Star Wars Encyclopedia.[6] In canon, however, the short story "Duty Roster" established that Chan did not take part in the Battle of Yavin, and that the position of Red Eleven was instead taken by Ralo Surrel. This brings the identity of the pilot originally identified as Wenton Chan into question.[2]
