The Watchtower was an ancient edifice constructed atop the rock spire west of the Dread Fortress on the moon Oricon. The Watchtower was controlled by the Dread Host during the Dread War, and the upper terrace was only accessible via a portal on the ground that utilized Gree hypergate technology. Commander Zaoron oversaw the Watchtower during the Dread War, but the tower was sacked during the fighting and its core recovered, allowing enemy forces to penetrate the Dread Fortress and defeat the Dread Masters.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Dread Cavern was first added to the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic as part of Game Update 2.4: The Dread War. It is the site of two faction-specific yet identical missions—"The Hand that Sees" for Imperial players and "Eye of Terror" for Republic players—and the repeatable Daily version of that mission, "The Tower's Core."[1]
