The WP-19 incendiary grenade manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. was a type of incendiary grenade that, upon detonation, released a flaming adhesive gel that clung to surfaces and merely spread if wiped or hosed. The gel burned at very high temperatures, and the white-hot flames spread quickly across structures and forested areas. However, in light of alleged atrocities, most Imperial units were equipped with the far less dangerous D-24 Inferno Grenade—another Merr-Sonn-manufactured grenade—in situations that once called for the WP-19. The cost of the WP-19 was 125 credits.[1]
However, while banned throughout most of the Core Worlds and the Inner Rim, the WP-19 still saw use, albeit limited, in the Imperial Military and among more radical dissidents and Rebel partisans.[1]
Behind the scenes
The WP-19 incendiary grenade was mentioned in Gadgets and Gear, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[1]
