Vurlene was a Witch of Dathomir who lived during the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, she was a healer for the Singing Mountain Clan. She once sent an individual to Naboo to meet with Skub, a Gungan holy man who had discovered a form of algae with properties similar to bacta whom she had learned about through a book, to gain a sample of the algae as she thought that it would be well suited to the environs of Dathomir.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Vurlene was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[3] Vurlene was one of the quest givers of the original "Singing Mountain Clan Theme Park."^[2] This quest series was removed from the game upon the release of the revamped "Witches of Dathomir Theme Park," introduced in the Game Update 19 on December 14, 2010.^[4] Vurlene's original quests were totally removed as the character was included in the new questline.^[1]
