The Voon sun was a star[4] located in the Voon system, a part of the Core Worlds' Krenher sector.[1] It was situated on the hyperlane known as the Hyabb-Twith Corridor,[3] which connected it to the Hyabb and Twith systems.[2] The star was orbited by the terrestrial planet Voon, and it illuminated the planet with a cool glare that appeared blue-white from Voon's surface.[4]

Shortly before the dawn on a day decades before[4] 4050 BBY,[5] a group of Jedi Knights infiltrated the stronghold of the Nelori Marauders[4] band of warriors[6] and pirates[7] on Voon in order to attack them. Unexpectedly to the Jedi, however, the Marauders had retreated into the lower levels of the stronghold, leaving the former to briefly stare at each other in puzzlement as light from the Voon sun pierced the structure's slitted windows and illuminated its empty topmost levels.[4]

Behind the scenes

The Voon sun was introduced in the Tales of the Jedi Companion, a 1996 sourcebook authored by George R. Strayton and published for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Voon system, and therefore the star itself, in grid square K-9.[2]

  5. Tales of the Jedi Companion establishes that the Nelori Marauders were active "decades" prior to Arca Jeth becoming a Jedi Master. In addition, The New Essential Chronology and The New Essential Guide to Alien Species both establish that Jeth had attained that rank by the time he participated in the Jedi victory over the Lorell Raiders. Since Galaxy at War dates the defeat of the Lorell Raiders to approximately 4050 BBY, the Nelori Marauders must have been active decades prior to that date.
