The Volmey Strip was located in the Rym Mountains of the planet Socorro. Accessible only by air, the strip was two hundred kilometers towards the interior of the mountains. A landmark, it was used as a meeting place for smugglers. The approach was extremely dangerous, requiring pilots to fly through subterranean caverns, through an active volcanic grotto then into a rift of plateaus at the base of the canyon.[1]
