Vigilant X2-series picket droids were a fourth-degree droid model developed by Automata Galactica during the Old Republic era.
They were created to defend checkpoints, guard headquarters, and protect strategic locations. These droids were similar to mobile weapons platforms, with a tough chassis, and heavy armament.
2X picket droids earned their moniker of "vigilant" due to their guard programming. A 2X droid would never leave its post without direct orders otherwise, and their backup power generator allowed it to outwait and outshoot most hostile forces.
Characteristics
X2 Droids where medium sized Tracked droids with a self-destruct feature meant to destroy resources that would otherwise be taken with their deactivation. They were capable of communicating through both Galactic Basic Standard and binary, and attempt to warn sentients away from their posts to avoid unnecessary casualties.
