Doctor Vig Sendvall was a renowned cybernetic surgeon who was requisitioned by the Galactic Empire to serve on the secret team that developed the cybernetic armor of Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith who served Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Dr. Sendvall was extremely proud of his work on Vader, and was obsessed with cybernetically modifying his son, Cyn in the following years. Cyn came to resent his father, vowing to destroy Sendvall's greatest work, Vader.[2]
Eventually, Cyn lured Darth Vader to the abandoned ore-mining moon HS-197 in the Horox system by evoking Vig Sendvall's name. Vader intended to find Sendvall's hiding place, only to be told that Sendvall was buried in a nearby graveyard. After ambushing Vader with his team, Cyn used information found in his father's journals to remotely exploit a flaw in Vader's systems and incapacitate the cyborg. Cyn completely neutralized Vader's motor functions while maintaining his afferent neural receptors. However, Cyn's exploit neglected Vader's mastery of the dark side of the Force, allowing Vader to lethally take control of the chop shop and slaughter Cyn's team. Stunned by Vader's sheer ability, Cyn came to realize Dr. Sendvall's work on Vader was indeed magnificent.[2]
After escaping the chop shop and exacting his revenge, Vader intended to correct the flaw in Sendvall's work such that it could not be exploited again.[2]
