The Viewing Towers of the Mos Espa Grand Arena were towers used to watch podracing events, like the Boonta Eve Classic. Family and friends of some privileged racers watched the race from these towers. They were constructed from a high-tensile material and featured an ascension track. Spectators could find place on a viewing repulsorlift platform[1] that could be lowered and raised.[2] Following incidents of hysterical family members throwing themselves off the top, either from the excitement of the race or from distress at losing a loved one, low-energy traction systems are now in force around the perimeter in the dome of the towers.[1] In 32 BBY the supporters of Anakin Skywalker used such a tower to follow the race.[2]
