Vespaara Row was a location on Vespaara which doubled as a civilian district and part-time make-shift Hunters of the Outer Rim battlefield in 9 ABY. The streets featured various structures, with four buildings and their rooftops serving as the designated arena, namely the official Hunters Merch Store, the Vespaara Tours Loading Zone, the Hypernova power station, and the ORSN broadcast station.

Description

The Vespaara Row was a civilian district and a part-time make-shift battlefield located on the planet Vespaara. The district featured four distinct corner buildings with narrow passageways in between. Two of the corner buildings across from each other, the Loading Zone[1]—a local transit hub[2] used by civilians to get around[2] the Grand Arena[3] and its surrounding areas[1]—and the ORSN broadcast station[2]—a brodcast station for the Outer Rim Sports Network to share the ongoings of the Arena[1]—were connected via an aboveground relay bridge.[2] The other two corner buildings were the Merch Store—a merchandise store dedicated to the competitive sporting show Hunters of the Outer Rim—and a power station that connected directly via cables to the Arena co-owner Balada's control ship, the Hypernova, to relay power.[1]

While being used by the sporting show as a make-shift battlefield, entry points to Vespaara Row were closed off from public access, though civilians were still able to use the closed off points to view the competition. The buildings in it were plastered with hologram advertisements and sponsors. Around the district, Vepaara's rocky and jagged terrain was visible at a distance.[1]

History

In 9 ABY,[4] the Hunters of the Outer Rim competition closed off Vespaara Row from public access as it was turned as a make-shift battlefield.[1]

Behind the scenes

Vespaara Row first appeared in the canon video game Star Wars: Hunters as one of the playable maps, which was developed by NaturalMotion's BossAlien and published by Zynga[1] on November 16, 2021, as a soft-launch to select countries,[5] before the global release on June 4, 2024.[6] The map was added to the game in version 1.0.0 as part of the global launch.[2] Prior to the update, the map was first revealed in an exclusive interview article with art director Dominic Estephane on StarWars.com.[7]
