"I think those are Merr-Sonn Verqs. Powerful, but their effective range isn't anywhere near three hundred meters."
―Jagged Fel[1]

The Verq was a model of close-assault blaster rifles produced by Merr-Sonn Munitions. Verqs were powerful weapons with short barrels but had a standard range well below three hundred meters. In 45 ABY, several Nargon biots serving the corporation Galactic Exploitation Technologies on the installation Brink Station wielded Verqs in a shootout with the Humans Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo. A recording of the fight was played for Organa Solo's brother, Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker, at the Jedi Academy on the world Shedu Maad; the combat instructor Jagged Fel observed that the the Nargons had operated the Verqs very proficiently.[1]

Behind the scenes
