"What I wouldn't give for the green hills of Vasch!"
Sam Heggs[2]

Vasch was a planet located within the Vasch system of the Outer Rim Territories. An agriworld[source?] of lush, green, rolling hills, it was the source of Vaschean rye, and was possibly the homeworld of Sam Heggs.

Description

"Ahhhh…like moonlight on a sweet Vaschean mare…"
―Sam Heggs, on Vaschean rye[2]

Vasch was a planetary body in the Vasch system of the Outer Rim Territories' Arkanis sector, and was one of that sector's Regency Worlds. It was situated in grid square R-17, and was located along the Vaschean Way hyperspace route, as well as at one end of the Najiba Loop route.[3] It had at least one moon casting moonlight on Vaschean nights.[2] A lush world, Vasch had a temperate climate, and was known as the sector's garden spot[3] with a terrain of green hills.[2]

History

Vasch was settled at the same time as Arkanis, another of the Regency Worlds.[3] During the Galactic War, the government of Vasch sold a large quantity of cheap "rubbish" that was confiscated from criminals.[4] Its hills were dotted with estates owned by wealthy retirees, and had graceful cities visited by tourists from across the sector.[3]

While in Mos Eisley on Tatooine, Sam Heggs lamented being on the desert world rather than on Vasch's green hills. He encountered bounty hunter Jeet Travis drinking Vaschean rye, and traded a taste for the story of how he obtained a rare grumph egg.[2]
