"Oh. Varp."
Geratt, facing a swarm of beetles[1]

Varp was a term used to express frustration;[2] [1] or surprise, such as "What the varp is that?,"[3] "Why the varp are you smiling?"[4] and "What in varp's name was that?"[5] It could also be used to describe something unpleasant, e.g. "this varp-heap of a planet,"[6] or be used as an intensifier, e.g. "get the warp out."[7] The term "varp farmer" was used as an insult.[8]

Behind the scenes

The term "varp" originates in the Legends novel The Clone Wars: Wild Space, where it is used by Bail Organa, who says, "Perhaps? What the varp do you mean, perhaps?"[9]
