Variety was a brand of newspaper that was available[1] in 19 BBY[2] on the planet[3] Coruscant. One article by the publication was "More Fix for Lucas Pix." One of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's Red Guards read the newspaper—with the "More Fix for Lucas Pix" article on its front page—while Palpatine told Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker about the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis.[1]
Behind the scenes
A newspaper published by Variety appeared in the non-canon comic Tag & Bink: Revenge of the Clone Menace, written by Kevin Rubio, illustrated by Lucas Marangon, and released by Dark Horse Comics[1] on April 26, 2006.[4] It is based on the real-world magazine of the same name and uses the same logo.[5]

- ↑ The New Essential Chronology places the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith in 19 BBY. As the sequence in Tag & Bink: Revenge of the Clone Menace depicting Palpatine's discussion with Anakin Skywalker is a parodic depiction of the same scene from Revenge of the Sith, the sequence must take place during 19 BBY.
