Vaneer was an individual who served as an admiral in the officer corps of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] he was serving on board the starship Intrepid, which was due to dock at the Imperial Fuel Station Visavi in orbit of the moon Toshara in the Toshaal system of the Outer Rim Territories.[1]
Prior to the admiral's arrival, a message was sent to a terminal on board the space station ordering the crew to refuel the Intrepid as quickly and efficiently as possible and to avoid to drawing attention to the other illicit operations on the station, which had extensive dealings with the criminal Pyke Syndicate.[1]
